Green & White Striped Seat Cushions On the Patio

Green & White Striped Seat Cushions On the Patio

You might have noticed that there’s a lot of bright green creeping into my decor this spring. It’s on the front porch:

And it’s in my front entryway (by the way, the vote on the pillows was pretty much unanimous–y’all preferred the green over the silver!):

After the winter, the seat cushions on my old iron patio set were in need of recovering. I had put burlap on them last fall, but burlap doesn’t winter well (note to self!). Abbey at Online Fabric Store (OFS) and I have worked together in the past–like when I reupholstered my daughter’s loveseat–and so I turned to her for good quality outdoor fabric for this job. I picked Premier Prints Outdoor Vertical Greenage fabric and recovered them yesterday.

I love recovering seat cushions–it’s so fast and easy, yet it can make a huge change. This bright awning stripe is so cheerful:

The stripe is bit more off-white than pure white, which I knew when I ordered it, but I’m probably the only one who will notice! They are happy to mail fabric samples if you need to see and feel the fabric before you buy it.

It still gets a little cool at night, so I’ve got a basket filled with throws and extra pillows just outside the door (the throw, pillows, and basket are all from HomeGoods).

I found some green pillar candles (at Wal-mart, of all places!) and put them in my candelabra. We’ve only got about a month before they will start melting in the Savannah heat!

Every time I post pictures of my back porch, someone asks about the sheers. They’re from Ikea, and the original posts on them are {here} and {here}. We’ve got great neighbors and lots of privacy in the back yard, but they’re still wonderful at keeping the bugs away when we close them.

You probably noticed in the photos that I bounced back and forth between a white hydrangea and a candelabra on the table–I couldn’t decide which I liked better. The hydrangea is now in on my kitchen table, so that problem has been solved!

Oh, and the reason you’re only seeing this small area of the patio/porch is because I have all the outdoor cushions off my loveseat and chairs and I am spray painting them white (like I did to my gray chair). It’s taking forever since I’m using a light color (which equals MULTIPLE coats), but I will show you when I’m done, of course!

Thanks for stopping by~
